certain fearless people will disagree vehemently with me, but I say
"traffic calm the living hell out of that intersection and all others like it."
A right-angle intersection is not enough -- we have to force motorists to turn
sharply, and therefore to slow down when approaching a turn. Otherwise,
they instinctively do their best Mario Andretti act, starting as far left as
possible, cutting the apex of the corner, and emerging well to the left. <FONT
face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2><SPAN class=546522200-17042007>I frequently see
motorists illegally turning right across a bike lane instead of properly
entering a right-turn-only lane.</SPAN></FONT></SPAN></FONT></DIV>

gang, this particular intersection is INHERENTLY dangerous for us,
because some motorists are too careless, too distracted, and/or too sun-blinded,
and this situation should not be tolerated. If I lived or worked near SDSU and
had to traverse that area daily, I would probably be one of those folks who
considers road biking unacceptably dangerous.</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
