Greetings, Friends. It's Spring! And not only are we blessed with warmer weather, longer days, and more sunlight, the Annual International Ride of Silence is fast approaching. Please save the date. Put Wednesday, May 16th, at 7:00 p.m. on your calendar. Last year, we had a great turnout and we hope to raise the number several fold this year! We have handouts and announcements on our local website, www.geocities.com/RideOfSilence. They are six to a page and work well to get the word out. Drop 'em off at bike stores and give 'em to fellow riders. (I'm still working on a flyer to ask bicycle stores to post in their windows. If anyone is not graphically-challenged and would like help, please give me a shout.) The international website is www.rideofsilence.org. Also, would any of you who belong to bike clubs please forward the following announcements to the persons responsible for putting together the newsletters/calendars/websites? BICYCLISTS FROM ALL OVER SAN DIEGO COUNTY will take to the streets of downtown San Diego on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in a Ride of Silence to honor bicycle riders who have been injured or killed while riding on San Diego County's public roadways, as well as raise awareness of bicyclists' rights. Gathering at the intersection of India and Washington Streets, the bike riders will don black armbands and embark on a silent, slow speed bike ride through Old Town and downtown San Diego. Many Thanks to Everyone Who Attended Last Year -- Let's Make This Year Even Better! Respectfully submitted, Frank Paiano www.geocities.com/RideOfSilence . . . . . ________________________________________________________________________ Interested in getting caught up on today's news?
