I concur with Marysue. It would be really great to enroll some law enforcement management personnel in a Road I course.

I think that the SD police and Sheriff's personnel all need to attend a session by the bike coalition or similar on cycling laws, rights and effective, efficient cycling.  It sounds as if police have no instruction on what's allowed and what's safe, so they continue this "ride in the gutter" mentality.    Could the bike coalition approach the Sheriff and Police Chief and/or City Council/Board of Supervisors to suggest a primer on bicycling?
