Hey Kathy,

I hit three pit stops on my "Bike-on-Vacation Day" tour this morning and
chatted with a North County TImes reporter at Nytro, in downtown Encinitas.
I, too, saw what appeared to be a large number of cyclists on Coast Highway
101, and I proudly wore my 1994 Bike to Work Day T-shirt.

Cheers,

John

Reports filtering in from all over the County are noting a significant
increase in the number of riders this year. Maybe it's all of you guys
trying to beat Todd's pit stop record? :-)

Don't forget to let your friends know that there will be several pit stops
open this afternoon to help, too -

  SR56 @ Camino Del Sur

  Adams Ave Bikes

  Downtown/Community Concourse

  Hard Rock Hotel downtown

I personally managed to visit 7 wonderful pit stops this morning - Art
Institute, Old Town, UCSD Hillcrest, 6th and Laurel, SD Zoo, Hard Rock
Hotel, and Community Concourse. All were staffed with happy enthusiastic
people, lots to eat (several had coffee!), and were very supportive and fun.
Thanks to everyone who participated this morning, and hope to see you on the
road this afternoon!

  Kathy
