I asked Gene to show where a bicycle path adjacent to a freeway has 
carried as many persons as two lanes of the freeway. The only 
demonstration that he has provided is three pictures showing parked 
cars, parked bus, and parked bicycles for supposedly equal numbers of 
passengers. The posed picture does not represent reality, either of 
passengers or of transportational use. Furthermore, Gene has now played 
the rather tired induced traffic argument that has been presented by 
anti-motoring advocates since about 1955, when I first read it.

If this group is to become involved in discussions of urban personal 
transportation, we need to have better-informed discussants.
