[SDCBC] Bogota vs. San Diego

The sad thing is that as soon as CALTRANS determines that another
lane is needed... all those "canyon concerns" will go right down the
drain. Look what is happening to 52 right now through the mission
gorge area as they add more lanes.

Now the reality is that a bike path would not have to go through the
floor of Marian Bear canyon... it could and should go right up along
the freeway, leaving the canyon floor alone.

I find it somewhat amazing that American society seems to "readily"
accept adding more lanes to freeways when time and time again "added
lanes" go quickly to become "congested lanes" again.

As I said earlier, perhaps we should consider something new...

This series of photographs illustrates the amount of space required
to transport the same number of people via car, bus, and bicycle.

Is adding more lanes to a freeway really the right answer to
relieving congestion? Just look what "the bypass" has done for the
5/805 junction.... at any night, around 5 PM....
