[SDCBC] What were they thinking?

That is one of the worst intersections in San Diego County, ironically near
SDSU's Institute for Traffic Safety. If we hardened veterans of cycling are
intimidated (and I am not embarrassed to admit that I definitely am), how do
we expect anyone else to take up cycling for transportation?

This isn't the only one. I used to have to deal with 2 lanes of
Montezuma traffic dumping out onto southbound Fairmont. Lots of fun
trying to cross over that. Going northbound I used to exit Camino Del
Rio south, then flip a U turn on Camino Del Rio S and head north. But
there's no such option southbound. It's unfortunate that there are
limited routes that actually go places and the ones that do are high
speed alternatives to the congested freeways.
