Spot-on, Jim! I am arguably more sensitive to pedestrian concerns than most other SDCBCers because I spend almost as much time (not distance) walking or jogging as I do cycling.

is that in too many cases there IS NO PEDESTRIAN
FACILITY and to many MOTORISTS FAIL TO YIELD as required!

My suggestion to improve the intersection for use
by those choosing
non-motorized/sustainable/Personal Rapid
Transit(PRT = bicycles!) is to also provide for
the pedestrian option - design, build/paint/sign,
educate and enforce motorist compliance for
people on bikes to be able to choose either a
vehicular route or a pedestrian route through the intersection. Both options!

Jim (walks sometimes too) Baross
