* 200 Acre Acquisition Successful
We did it! Thanks to more than 100 donors, the San
Diego River Conservancy, the State of California
Resources Agency, the County of San Diego, The
Parker Foundation and many others, we were able to
meet our deadline to purchase 200 acres to add to
Eagle Peak Preserve (http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=001J2_jfXFKE_VSUJoLYJb1K4JmofuBAmnVol1G-xHfDt22J0aXEJabCsP9kkC8fQlgMQvvcUcjFg2YK00i6nyLCUHewPHopMvsosNGdD5ycIgsEWkru8QokaQ82D2azJlqbSp8_qWareJiCWRjm63dJBcUXGSLmjyngqIW0bsSNYE=). More
than $800,000 was
raised! Together we did make a difference. Thank you.
We need to raise an additional $15,000 for the
acquisition. So
donations are still encouraged.
A dedication ceremony is being planned for early May.
April 6th we will be holding an informal open house
between 10AM and 3PM. So please join us and see
towering 300 foot Mildred Falls, wildflowers in bloom,
and all this 516 acre preserve has to offer.

* Two Major Projects in Mission Valley Underway
Have you seen them yet? More than $3 million dollars
worth of projects are now under construction. These
two projects have been high priority projects for the
River Park Foundation, so we are very pleased to see
them underway.
One of the projects is a nearly one mile extension to
the San Diego River Trail. The extension will connect
to the existing three miles of trails along the River to
Dog Beach. The project is scheduled to be completed
in late summer.
The second project is a nearly 5 acre restoration
project. The removal of non-native plants is nearly
complete, and the second phase will involve planting
the area with native plants to restore this important
part of Mission Valley Preserve. Our thanks to the San
Diego River Conservancy for their support of this
project which is being lead by the City of San Diego.

* Volunteer of the Month
Peter St. Clair is a longtime volunteer of the San Diego
River Park Foundation and a good friend. He is always
available to lend his knowledge and expertise of
native flora and gardening to our volunteers and staff.
Peter is also very generous in that he has made
donations of native plants, gardening tools and other
items to the Foundation over the years. Thanks Peter,
it's always a pleasure to be able to work with you!
* Thank You Las Patronas!
Thanks to Las Patronas we now have a beautiful truck
to support our volunteer programs! The River Park
Foundation received a grant from Las Patronas to
purchase the truck.
