[SDCBC] What were they thinking?

I think it's more about the terrain, and distances. No matter how I
route it, I've got at least 1 significant climb on my route to work.
My commute from Santee is 26 miles via 52/Kearney Villa/Black Mountain,
or 22 miles via 67/Old Poway Road. I'll probably do this commute 2-3
times a week now that there's daylight and I found a halfway decent but
longer route via Black Mountain road. When I was on active duty and
commuting to the Navy hospital, it was 20 miles, and people thought I
was nuts. With the long distances involved in commuting and being able
to afford a piece of dirt to live on in Socal, you won't see tons of
bicycle commuters. Our society is too spread out for it.
