[SDCBC] What were they thinking?

I certainly hope that no one rides "silly" out there or anywhere
in/with other traffic. For the foreseeable future bicyclists must
choose routes carefully to fit our capabilities. :-(

Someday bicycling will truly belong everywhere - complete streets and
more rational traffic behavior may come about in our lifetimes.

When fewer and fewer of us don't ride everywhere we are presently
allowed, there is more support for keeping us off/designing w/o
bicyclists/bicycling in mind. How often I've heard, "I never see
bicyclists." and "Why encourage bicycling with other traffic with any
accommodations for them?" "Only dare-devils ride in traffic."

Bicycling on public roads shouldn't be any more hazardous than using
a motor vehicle; except for the protection that motor vehicles encase
their occupants within and many bicyclists leave parked in their garages.
