[SDCBC] Big sign in bike lane at Chart House

That section of 101 is one of the most dangerous parts of Encinitas. I've
been nearly hit several times there. This area is especially a problem on
Sunday mornings, when hungry brunchers pull into the bike lane without
looking. They should put a very large sign there "WATCH OUT FOR BICYCLISTS"
.

On July 29th of last year I reported a similar situation with Dino's
restaurant across the street from the Chart House. Cyclists on this list
quickly jumped on the situation and had the obstacles removed quickly.
Possibly those same techniques can be used to remove the similar obstacles
in front of the Chart House.

BTW, I did not notice these barriers when I pedaled north bound Saturday
around 10:30 AM or southbound around 3:00 PM.

On late Saturday afternoon, I was bicycling south on the Coast Highway by
the Chart House in Encinitas. In the middle of the bike lane, the Chart
House had put two plastic poles about three feet high. Between the two
poles, was a sign about four feet high which said "valet parking". Of
course, bicyclists were forced out into the traffic lane to pass. Does
anyone know if this is routine? Or this is a one time thing? I'm about
ready to call the manager of the Chart House to request that they not put
barriers in the bicycle lane. Feedback?
