How about "bicyclists -- watch for traffic entering from the right" on Coast
Highway 101 and, on Jimmy Durante, "watch for bicyclists crossing." The
situation is much worse for pedestrians, who lack many of a vehicular
bicyclist's tools.

  That's a good point, Trevor.   Perhaps that sign has value to bicyclists
as a reminder that we're supposed to yield to traffic merging from Jimmy
Durante before we merge across the rightmost lane to get into the shoulder
bike lane.  I still bristle when I see it because it singles out bicyclists
and seems to assume we are likely to not act properly.  But is this a sign
we really want to oppose?
