There are crosswalks painted far down or up the off ramp... even a
sign stating "use crosswalk". What a cruel joke that is. I have never
tried to use the crosswalk because I see that the approaching
vehicles are traveling too fast to be able to come to a stop, and if
one did I bet the following ones would crash into the first one...
maybe that would slow folks down but at too high a cost.

I get through there by timing my merges to the generally platooning
groups of vehicles... and I merge to a straight through position in
the lane both to show I'm there, to indicate I plan to go straight
through, and to provide space to the right of me for the ramp runners
to make their run.

The curve doesn't help because for a while a bicyclist, especially on
riding far to the right, is out of view of overtaking motorists.
