[SDCBC] Time commitment? Re: Road 1 in June

Unfortunately -
we all have other things to do and the Road 1 course needs 9 hours to
complete for most any group. I suppose LCIs might be able to get it
all covered with less time for a very small group of already pretty
competent folks - I charge $50 per hour. Call me if motivated for
individual or very small group classes.

Fortunately -
the Road 1 course packs in A LOT of info and is focused on what that
level of bicyclist NEEDS TO KNOW. Also much of the time is riding
time to/from/in appropriate level of complexity traffic situations...
merging, crossing, anticipating/avoiding problems, riding to & from.
We aren't just talking about or looking at, we are doing. The more
time actually performing a new skill the more likely to learn and
master that skill. Right?

I believe that the Road 1 time - long as it may seem - is a minimum
amount of time to get a comprehensive introduction, to see effective
cycling in action, and gain some experience and feedback... a taste
of what bicycling competency can be like.... then to apply this on
your own when you ride.

No, this isn't rocket science... but well worth more time. IMHO.

We may have enough people available for a group Road 1 course. Let's see.
Please respond very soon so we might get it prepared!

What about these days/times?
Friday, June 13th, 6:30 to 9:30 pm - classroom only, no riding

and followed by either:
1) my first choice, Sunday, June 22, 9 AM to approximately 3 PM
or
2) Saturday, June 14th, 9 AM to approximately 3 PM

The class would be held in the Normal Heights area/central San Diego.
Specific location, course details, and registration provided to those
ready to commit. The Road 1 course is designed for adults; children
14 and over may participate with their adult also participating.

Call or email with questions... yes, you need a bike and bicycling
helmet to participate.
