I consider myself an expert transportation cyclist, albeit a timid one. For me, a major part of being an expert is to be able to recognize risk and to figure out ways to reduce it.

A key sentence in Trevor's statement was, "It may take some time to
become an expert at how to deal
with the route, but in the end it is worth the investment." In each
of these examples, have you taken the time to become an expert at how
to deal with the route without using the alternative?
Serge
