[SDCBC] FW: Don't be rude to cars - PLEASE!

It isn't about justifying bad behavior in motorists. It is finding a way to
reduce it. Bad behavior causes more bad behavior. We have to generate a
culture of good behavior in cyclists, and maybe there will be more good
behavior in motorists.
I just got back from cycling 3 weeks in Italy. In general, cars and
cyclists share the road with respect for each other. There were very few
bike lanes, and cars waited for good opportunities to pass. Similarly,
bicyclists would pull over and let cars pass if they were holding things up.
If we piss off cars, the only ones that will loose are cyclists. At the
same time, I have no problem politely getting license plate numbers and
taking legal action if warranted.

I'm sorry, Tom, but there is absolutely *nothing* that justifies the
motorist behavior referenced below. **NOTHING** warrants such criminally
negligent behavior while behind a three thousand pound vehicle.

I wish both of these people were put in jail, but I ask myself; why is this
happening? There could be many reasons, but I sense that other bicyclists
have probably pissed them off in the near past. [...]
