[SDCBC] FW: As Follow-up, Again...

Wow, had I known he has a streamliner I wouldn't have issued that
challenge. :) Yeah, I've been smoked by Dean Peterson when he did a
23:06 time a couple years ago. He was riding around everyone like they
were standing still. I'd be scared to go downhill on a streamliner,
you'd gain sooo much speed it'd be insane trying to stop it. A couple
guys I know want that FI record, Dean is one of them, and he came close,
but was scrubbing too much speed on the turn around for the short
course. They even announced he broke the record, but then when they
looked it up he was 1 second shy of tying it. If Eric is familiar with
what bents can do, a Bacchetta Aero high racer is significantly faster
going downhill than a road bike. I'm maybe 40-45 descending the 52 on
my road bike, but on my Aero or Corsa I can let it rip and easily exceed
50. I'm not the only one in town on an Aero either, Nigel Glibbery puts
the hurt on the cyclovets every now and then with his. Darn fast bikes,
weighing in at 18-25lbs with a good rider they climb well too. But they
are illegal on California roads at night, not to mention any event put
on by the USCF. :)
