[SDCBC] Coast Highway 101 streetscape background reading

Hello fellow SDCBCers,

Anyone wanting to do a little background readng in preparation for the Thursday evening and Saturday morning public workshops may want to look at Chapters 4 and 5 of the City of Encinitas "101 Corridor Specific Plan":

Note in particular the proposed street layout cross sections, which indicate the available total right-of-way width and other constraints. For the west side of Coast Highway 101, the sketches depict a door zone 5-foot-wide bike lane between an 8-foot parking lane and two 11-foot primary travel lanes, which is essentially the situation through much of south Carlsbad from Ponto to La Costa Av. The current situation is not good, but is this really any better?
