[SDCBC] Hypocrisy the silent enemy

Thanks Trevor. I am 100% with you, but unfortunately we live in a society that is enamored with fast driving, drugs legal and illegal, and a perpetrator-as-victim mentality. Western Europe is actually more tolerant of alcohol use, but far less tolerant of inebriated motoring and much stricter about driver licensing, than we are.

I read this story and it made me think of our cyclist education programs and the one kind of driver we really can't trust.

Have you ever had "just a little", but driven anyway? Are you afraid that you'd be unfairly locked up for years or lose your driving privilege forever for "just a small error in judgement"? Then you, like me, are part of a culture that inhibits lawmakers from doing something about this situation:

Jerome had been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence seven times in the past 11 years, four of those in the past four years. At the time of Jerome's fatal crash, he was on probation for two previous DUI offenses and had an outstanding warrant for an arrest in connection with a DUI.
...
Attorney Kerry Armstrong said that in San Diego, a person convicted of drunken driving isn't likely to get jail time if there were no injuries. ...

So pledge with me: if you drink, you can EXPECT CONSEQUENCES if you drive, so DON'T.

Next up: Are you giving your body and mind enough rest out of every 24 hours?
