You are right there are too many car bullies in this world.  Cars are big, heavy, hard things while people are soft and easily hurt.

I tend too think that the first explaining that needs to be done is the pushy fast driver siting on his behind in air conditioned comfort talking on a cell phone.  The first question should always be why did you strike the ped?

  Of course cause/effect is a reality.  But that still doesn't give the driver of any motor vehicle a free pass for killing someone for any reason.  You're starting to sound like you're blaming the victim, which is as bad as law enforcement because every single time there is a bicycle vs. motor vehicle accident, the local LEOs go out of their way almost every time to blame the cyclist rather than cite the motorist.  >From what I have personally gone through and seen in case after case, it's never the motorist's fault no matter what.
