[SDCBC] routes from Vista to Rancho Bernardo

Hi all:
   
  I'll be starting a new job in Rancho Bernardo next week and was wondering about bike routes there from Vista/Shadowridge (Melrose and Sycamore).  I know I need Felicita to Via Rancho Parkway, I-15, W. Bernardo, Rancho Bernardo Dr for the last bit, but what are the best (fastest, lightest traffic, fewest lights) routes to get onto Felicita?  Barnham, Mission? Is there a continuous path along the Sprinter RR line that would work?  What side streets through Escondido have gates or are really dead-ends which don't show on maps?
  Commuting times will be normal morning and evening.
