i've seen this one enough times here in san diego that it might be worth
watching out for: the second car in a lane approaching a yellow light
whose driver disagrees with the first driver's decision to stop for the
impending red, zooming around the first car, on either side, maybe in an
adjacent through lane but also perhaps in a left turn lane, in the right
shoulder or turn lane, or even using the oncoming lane!

i don't drive much, but when i do, my devotion to going 25mph in 25mph
zones seems to induce this behavior (and several other bad behaviors) in
drivers behind me distressingly often.
