Hi Suzi,

Instead of going to Walmart, try a local Bike Shop for those items.  While you are there, ask around about cycling groups.  I do not know personally of a trike group, but there are some begining groups you could ride with that will help you with the laws and safe riding techniques as well.  I would also recommend you to take a ROAD I class, that would help you a great deal.
