[SDCBC] I should be grateful, but....

Dear SDCBCers:
	I SHOULD be grateful for the new streetparking bike racks inb Little 
Italy (specificially along India, I don't know if they're mirrored on 
Columbia), BUT why did they go with these awkward, big, space-taking 
six-or-eight-foot-long modern versions of the old wheelbender type, 
instead of the sensible big pipe brackets the City of San Diego has put 
in so many of their other neighborhoods (such as PB and Hillcrest)? They 
take up WAY too much sidewalk real estate (wheelchair users might be 
peeved, for good reason, although I've not been out there with a 
yardstick yet). And, as noted by their nickname, they are actually 
conducive to casual bike vandalism. Further, only the outer positions on 
the rack are readily usable by U-lock users....
