OK so what did we have, perhaps a 1/4 inch of rain over the past
week...  maybe a bit more?

The weir under the Carmel Country road bride was completely flooded;
there was about 3-4 inches of water and muck all the way across about
9-12 feet of the weir. It may have been crossable if one went
carefully and very straight and with good steady speed. I wasn't
willing to try.

On the good news side, during my after lunch ride at about 1 PM, I
saw about 20 cyclists on the path during my short jaunt. Half of
those cyclists were probably regular cyclists... out in kit and
all. The other half looked like folks that just took the bike out of
the garage or perhaps just bought new bikes; at any rate, the path
seems to be drawing other folks, besides just regular
cyclists. There were also 6 women riders on the path (2 in kit) So
30% of the local riders were women.

BTW I don't judge "regular riders" by kit alone... but also by
cadence... regular cyclists tend to have faster cadence than those
that do not ride regularly.

These observations were made in a brief 30 minute period.
