I don't know if there is a ghost bike up yet. I did send a letter to the San
Diego Police Department asking them to be more vigilant in ticketing people
parking in the bike lane, but I have not received a response.

Thanks for posting, Jim. MarySue and her husband used to run a bike shop in
Solana Beach, and they have always seen advocacy as a natural part of being
in the bike business.

The SD U-T published a letter to editor today, Nov 20, from Marysue
Smith of Encinitas; THANKS MARYSUE! ... concerning the "Cyclist
killed was Canyon Crest student, Local, Nov. 2" ... the boy who
crashed into a truck parked, apparently illegally, in a Bike Lane.
"Why was no citation issued when it was illegal for the truck to be
parked there?"
"It is time to pressure the San Diego County Sheriff's Department to
enforce the law when it comes to violating the rights and safety of
bicyclists."
"San Diego-area cyclists need to become much more vocal in pushing
for safer street conditions."
Do we have a "white/ghost bike" up there yet?
I have white paint ready to go... but no extra frames.
