2: ECO Bikeway Traffic Calming Project

Location: City of Imperial Beach, Community Room, City Hall

Date: March 29, 2007

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm

The City of Imperial Beach is holding a public meeting to discuss developing
a Bicycle Transportation Plan (BTP) and the ECO

Bikeway / Palm Avenue Traffic Calming project on March 29th, 2007, beginning
at 6:00pm. This workshop will be an open forum

where you can talk directly with the City and the consultants and view their
analysis. A quick overview of the BTP will be presented

at 6:00 to 6:15pm, followed by 30-45 minutes of public input session. From
7:00 to 7:15pm a presentation will be given for the

ECO Bikeway and Palm Avenue Traffic Calming Project. Otherwise, you can come
and go as you wish until 8:00pm. Verbal and

written comments are welcome, as well as your questions. The City wants you
to attend to hear your opinions and help develop

a workable bikeway system for Imperial Beach.

6:00 - 6:15 Imperial Beach Bicycle Transportation Plan (BTP): Presentation
by KTU+A

The BTP will guide bikeway system design and construction throughout the
City over the next few years. The BTP will identify

and prioritize bike projects based on technical analysis and community
input. Once adopted, it will become part of the General

Plan and will be used to apply for grants to pay for bikeway projects.

6:15 - 6:45 BTP Workshop: Question and Answers, Public Input and Displays

Your opinions are important. This community workshop is a valuable part of
the BTP process and local knowledge is crucial.

7:00 - 7:15 ECO Bikeway and Palm Avenue Traffic Calming Project:
Presentation by KOA

This project is designed to create a vital physical link shown for the ECO
Bikeway Route in the City's General Plan. The project

will involve the creation of a Type II Bikeway and on-street parking along
Palm Avenue by reducing two travel lanes to one in

each direction. Also, signage will be added to 7th Street to designate it as
a Type III Bikeway to serve the ECO Bikeway Route

link. The City has determined that the ECO Bikeway and Palm Avenue Traffic
Calming Project is exempt from CEQA under

CEQA Guidelines Section 15304 (h); Minor Alterations to Land, creation of
bicycle lanes on existing rights-of-way. This meeting

will afford the public the opportunity to question or express any concerns
regarding this determination.

7:15 - 8:00 ECO Bikeway and Palm Avenue Traffic Calming Project Workshop:
Question and Answers,

Public Input and Displays

This community workshop will serve to gain public ideas and opinions on the
traffic calming project.
