[SDCBC] FW: question about velodrome

Hi SDCBC listers,

A quick email to see if anyone out there might be able to lend a hand to the
velodrome to

1. Help fix the steps in the stands. This sounds like a simple one,
but the combination of me and a hammer would be scary, so they're looking
for someone with a little more skill and a little time. "There is one step
that has broken out of the wooden stairway between the two levels of the
bleachers to the east of the track. New lumber and hardware is on the
terrace to the north of the concessions trailer. Lumber will need to be cut
to length."

2. Help fix the irrigation system in the infield. The irrigation
system has two breaks, both in the same general area. I would have to meet
with someone to show where to begin.

Please contact Ray Ramage (track330 at aol.com) if you can volunteer for one or
the other of these projects!

Kathy

Subject: Re: question about velodrome

The City will not do any work or make any repairs within the perimeter fence
of the Velodrome; it all comes down to volunteers to make repairs and do
maintenance. The steps were broken early in the season. The Board of
Directors purchased supplies for the repair, which are in place and ready to
be installed. We would be happy to help out if anyone wants to step up to
the plate and complete the project. We are also looking for a volunteer to
help us repair the irrigation system in the infield. If you know of any
contractors who would be willing to underwrite resurfacing of the track
surface in exchange for advertising, that's something else we need. It will
be easier to attract that kind of corporate sponsorship once we achieve our
501(c)3 status to allow tax write-offs. Thanks for your interest!

Best regards,

Ray Ramage, Secretary, SDVA Board of Directors
