If I recall correctly, the situation in Carlsbad on the grade approaching
Palomar Airport Road on s/b El Camino Real that we discussed a couple of
years ago on this list included a "detour" for bikes sign, but maybe it was
just "bike lanes closed".  In fact, that was the situation I pictured when I
first read Richard's "hypothetical".
