The San Diego Randonneurs has a permanent (a type of timed event)
which goes from Imperial Beach, about a block from the ocean, to
Tuscon. So far, two people have completed it.
The Randonneurs website
http://www.sandiegorandonneurs.com/
and the link to to route sheet:
http://www.sandiegorandonneurs.com/docs/permanent_cue_703K_SeatoSaguaro.pdf
The list of permanents is on this page:
http://www.sandiegorandonneurs.com/permanents.html
The ride to Tuscon is the last one, Sea to Saguaro. You can contact
the organizer for more info (click on the reg_form link on the
permanents page).
Enjoy,
Tom
