To all:
I have to say I find this thread rather strange. If I were playing cards, I
would think I would have a pat hand. SDCBC list server, wondering about cones
in the bike lane, pointing out cars parked in the bike lane.... should be
pretty standard stuff.
But what I am reading is that because I am interested in keeping pylons and
parked cars out of bike lanes, because I report traffic sensors that do not
respond to bicycles, because I report sections of the road that are in need of
repair, I just may be an incompetent rider who feels some unconscious personal
tresspass...
And to think I thought I was merely trying to make a small contribution among
many much larger contributions to help make sure that San Diego remained
bicycle friendly and did not turn into another Phillidelphia where I hear tell the
police double park alongside cars illegally parked in the bike lane so they
can get donuts...
I can say I will certainly continue to point out the problems I see, whether
they affect me as a cyclist, motorist, birder, star gazer or human being, and
continue to hope this is the right venue for public discussion of bicycle
issues.

According to Joel, the city is working on the BIKE LANE/NO PARKING signs for
the corner of Genesee and Executive Drive.
