I was stopped a while back for that one on Mast Blvd in Santee. I took
the lane, got pulled over, started to get a lecture about riding in the
bike lane. My response was CVC 21208 says I don't have to if there's a
hazard and I'm not eating a door or getting side swiped for anyone.
Pointed out the parked cars, plus narrow traffic lane, and got a well,
uh, uhm, just be careful out there. :)
I've complained to Santee about that lane a few times and it's still
there and I still take the traffic lane. It irritates some drivers,
others are cool with it. Go figure.
