The Padres have agreed to a pilot program for valet bike parking for certain
day games at Petco Park. It's an exciting partnership, and they are
enthusiastic about encouraging folks to ride their bikes to the ballgame!

Free guarded valet bike parking will be provided at the September 2nd 1:00
p.m. Padres game against the Dodgers at the corner of Park Blvd and Tony
Gwinn Drive. You will be able to check in your bike and will be given a
claim ticket-wristband. Security will be provided through the game, but you
will be allowed to lock your bike if you like.

And don't forget September 16th is PEDAL TO THE PARK! The ride starts in
Balboa Park with various route options, and the Padres will also be
providing the free guarded bike parking pavilion for everyone who rides
their bike to the game that day. It's a great fundraiser for the Coalition,
and another opportunity to show the Padres how much we appreciate the bike
parking services they are providing. Register now for Pedal to the Park at
www.pedaltothepark.com.

Many thanks to Dave White for his tireless efforts to encourage the Padres
to provide great bike parking service, and for his work as event director
for Pedal to the Park!

While the Padres have committed to providing this parking service for two
games to try it out, they have expressed interest in continuing the service
for day games for the rest of this year and perhaps the 2008 season. It
depends on how it goes on the 2nd and the 16th, so I hope you all will come
out to the games and try it out, and tell your friends!

Kathy
