Hi Kathy, 

I cannot post to the SDCBC mail reflector from my computer here at work, but
here is an update on Palomar Airport Road, if you care to share it with the
gang.

 

Westbound Palomar Airport Road from Palomar Oaks Way to College Bl./Aviara
Pkwy.: K-rail still obstructs the #3 lane. The powerlines and poles have
been removed, 98% of a new sidewalk has been poured, and the asphalt on the
construction side of the K-rail (the bike lane and most of the #3 lane) is
in reasonable shape, with scattered debris, a few potholes, and a couple of
rough spots requiring attention of any road cyclists who may traverse the
area. There is minor intermittent construction activity on some workdays,
but I rarely encounter anyone on my morning 6:30 a.m. jog to the office. I
THINK they will be able to remove the K-rail and reopen the bike lane and #3
lane by month-end. The segment from College to Hidden Valley is probably a
week behind the Palomar Oaks to College segment.
