California Bicycle Coalition Legislative Update!

April 10, 2007

 

AB 534 (Smyth) Bicycle Transportation Account moves out of the Assembly
Transportation Committee:

 

After a little politics and some solid work by Assembly Member Smyth, AB 534
moved out of committee today with a vote of 8-2.  While some Republicans
still feel doubling the size of the account is not a good idea, we did
receive support from Assembly Member Shirley Horton and Assembly Member Guy
Houston.

 

Thanks to Kevin O'neil (Chief of Staff to Asm. Smyth), Justin Fanslau
(Lobbyist for the California Bicycle Coalition),and Doug Houston (Lobbyist
for the California Parks Association) for their hard work in the capitol and
committee today.  And thank you for sending your letters of support.

 

Please get ready to send your letter of support to the Assembly
Appropriations Committee.  The bill will go there next.
