Party Wednesday, December 19<sup>th</sup>.</span><span style='color:black'> A
low key celebration of the season, with food, drink, conversation, and fun! At
the downtown office, 740 13<sup>th</sup> St, Suite 220, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
We’ll have a bit of a raffle (can you say ‘free prizes!’?),
and a nice time, so don’t miss it! <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;color:black'>Bikes for Kids Thanks
to Trek and BIA</span><span style='color:black'> – through the generosity
of Trek and the Building Industry Association, kids who lost their bikes in the
fires will be getting new ones! Trek has donated 100 bikes to families in San
Diego, and The Building Industry Association will be donating almost 200 bikes
for kids in the County. Big thanks to BIA, Trek, and Gary Cooper (Rancho Bernardo
Cyclery) and Mike Olson (San Diego Trek stores).<o:p></o:p></span></p>

Bikes</span><span style='color:black'> – The Union Tribune ran two bike
friendly opinion pieces this week. The first, a column by Neal Peirce (<a

style='color:black'>http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20071213/news_lz1e13peirce.html</span></a>)
is a good discussion of why streets that accommodate all users are a good idea.
The second was a letter to the editor from executive director Kathy Keehan in
response to several letters about the fatal crash in Carmel Valley several
