Message-ID: <004c01c853e1$d3c502b0$7b4f0810$@org> SDCBC Announcements for January 10th, 2008 - Ride and Learn, BMX Olympic Park Opening, San Diego River Bike Path Groundbreaking, Bicycle Leadership Conference in Town Ride and Learn - Sunday, January 13th. Check out a wonderful bike path in north county. A few hills, some pretty scenery - really! About 15-18 miles, conversational pace. We never drop any rider! Meet at the Souplantation parking lot (3804 Valley Centre Dr, Carmel Valley) meet at 9:00 for 9:15 ride start. San Diego River Bike Path Groundbreaking - Thursday, January 17th, 11:00. At Sefton Field, end of Hotel Circle Place. Come celebrate the beginning of a great new addition to the bike path network. Bicycle Leadership Conference - January 18th - 20th. Industry Leaders will meet in San Diego to talk about the future of bicycling. And they want to ride in San Diego. If you are interested in leading a ride on the following dates and times, contact execdir at sdcbc.org: January 18 between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM (have to be back by Noon for Lunch), January 19 06:15 AM - 07:15 AM, January 19 Slow Pedal Ride 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM (have to be back by 05:30 PM), January 20 06:15 AM - 07:15 AM. BMX Park Opens at Olympic Training Center - Monday, January 21st. The United States Olympic Committee and USA Cycling invite you to share in the excitement of the new BMX Super-cross Training Venue at the official ribbon cutting ceremony. 1:00PM Ribbon Cutting ceremony And Exhibition by BMX athletes, including Donny Robinson, Kyle Bennett, Mike Day, Steven Cisar, Jill Kintner and Arielle Martin. Enter at Copley Visitor Center. Road I Class offered: In La Mesa - Jan 26, Feb 2, Feb 9th, and at Grossmont College February 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Classes are FREE, but space is limited.
