Subject: [SDCBC-announce] New Email List

Fellow Cyclists,

SDCBC has inaugurated a new email list: sdcbc-announce at bikesandiego.org

This list is designed for the purpose of informing the SDCBC 
membership of events/issues of immediate importance without the 
volume related drawbacks associated with an open discussion list such 
as sdcbc at bikesandiego.org.  If you are troubled by the efforr 
required to keep up with all of the posting to 
sdcbc at bikesandiego.org, perhaps you shoudl consider unsubscribing 
from that list and relying on the new SDCBC-announce at bikesandiego.org 
to keep you informed.

The new list does not allow posting by the general membership.  It is 
strictly an announcement list and you will generally see postings 
only from the SDCBC Executive Director or President (and occasionally 
the webmaster or our professor emeritus, Jim Baross).  We expect the 
volume of traffic to be very low.

The new list has been initially been populated with all of the email 
addresses that are currently subscribed to SDCBC at bikesandiego.org 
.  With hearty thanks and hats way off to our volunteer list 
administrator and list host, James Hsieh, we say -- Good work Jim - 
you and "stickman-computing.org" are sincerely appreciated.
